"With the body of bronze his form walks free, with the mind of a ghost his spirit roams further"
-Elder Jade Monk Chechi
Biography
Jinsei is a large golem who is the declared abbot of the Jinju Temple, one of the largest monasteries in the Jade Mage theology. Jinsei is also the title granted to those who are reincarnations of the first of the Three Sages; the monk who founded the Tao of Wisdom. An ideology heavily rooted in Jade Mage philosophy. Despite being the head abbot of the Jade Mages, he speaks not through the tongue and rarely interacts with humans or even fellow monks. He is even hardly ever found in his temple.
This reincarnation of Jinsei originated around 2850 RH when one of the monastery statues came to life and roamed the temple freely. Before the monks could subdue him, the statue picked up a brush and recited the thousand-word mantra on the floors; a mantra that could only be performed by Jinsei and his reincarnates as a method of confirmation.
Shortly after being promoted abbot, Jinsei, without saying anything, tore up a large copper totem
from the temple and hollowed it out into a gourd. Lesser Jade Monks stood puzzled while the higher-up monks remained intrigued. For what could this sentient statue made of bronze want with a giant gourd? He then walked into the woods and did not return to the temple for six months. When he did return the gourd was filled and heavy for he could barely lift it, placing it down at the center of the monastery and meditating next to it for another six months. Voices echoed from him, but they weren't his. Afterward, the gourd was mysteriously emptied and the bronze golem got up, picked up the gourd, and walked back into the woods. He has repeated this cycle to this day.
To comprehend his spirit, his form, or his mind would be a task unfathomable to even the most enlightened.
