The elder of the very storms that tremble through the valley, and the lighting that crashes upon where he pleases, Rugong, son of Otamu and Umato, is the god of thunder, lightning and storms. He rides a cloud plucked from the divine heavens, carrying a mallet and spike to deliver lightning's wrath from the sky, and accompanied by six drums to signal others his presence and his mark. Rugong is often forgetful, usually being a full second to a minute late to signal the drums. This is why thunder always comes second.

​Among the many born from the first living of Kudao; Otamu and Umato. Shortly before Rugong's parturition, Umato was poisoned during her fertility causing her next newborn to be a primordial demonic beast of fire, earthquakes, tsunamis, and chaos. In utter disbelief, God Emperor Shenhai descended from the heavens, drew his sword, and split the creature in two. This creature, as destructive as it was, could not be allowed to walk the earth as one. And instead, separate with divided powers.

The left half of the creature was Rugong, the source of earth's destructive nature, and the other, Mazoku, king of fire and havoc. Both serve as a necessary evil to develop mankind and their challenges.

Mazoku, due to his nature turned his back to Shenhai, but Rugong was offered a royal seat in the council of heaven. And deliver vengeance to cursed evil-doers who oppose the Emperor of the Divine Sea Shenhai.
